Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin was born in the city of Winnipeg, but was raised in Wellington. She became an actor in the role of Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film called The Piano. Following a formal audition at the age of nine, she changed her name to Flora McGrath - the daughter of the Scottish mute pianist in the 19th century. They moved to New Zealand to marry an unplanned husband. In her teens her family relocated into the United States. Paquin performed the leading role in Fly Away Home in 1996 as well as a brief appearance as Jane Eyre when she was an infant. Paquin was Frankie Addams in a 1997 television movie adaptation of the novel written by Carson McCullers The Member of the Wedding and had a minor role as Queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). The actress played teens for the roles of Hurlyburly (1998) She's All That (1999) and A Walk on the Moon (1999) and portrayed the groupie Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
